Responsibilities Position is based in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital and Level I trauma center 23 operating rooms with responsibilities across all service lines except cardiothoracic / vascular Shift is 4x10 hour evenings from 13 : 00 to 22 : 00 with weekend coverage required once per month On-call is required approximately once per week Floating may occur within skill set to meet facility needs, including potential floating to affiliate hospitals Electronic Medical Record is Cerner and prior experience is preferred Cases include trauma, general, bariatric, neurology, orthopedics, plastic, transplant, urology, and emergency management First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment RN will not circulate for cardiothoracic / vascular (CV) cases Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 562 beds and strong interdisciplinary collaboration Hospital-provided scrubs are required while on assignment Free parking with permit provided during orientation Candidate must work at least two out of three major holidays during the contract All requested time off must be submitted for approval; requests over five non-holiday days require facility approval Candidates with permanent or PRN employment at the facility must have a 12-month break before being eligible as a traveler Requirements Active IL RN license in hand or application in process at time of consideration Minimum of 3 years recent operating room RN experience required Level I trauma experience required General OR, trauma, and laparoscopic assisted case experience required Certifications required : BLS (AHA or Red Cross only); CNOR preferred Cerner charting experience preferred Experience required with a variety of case types : appendectomy, cholecystectomy, mastectomy, cervical fusion, craniotomy, arthroscopy, open / closed fracture reduction, microvascular free flap, cystoscopy, organ donation, amputations, and emergency code response Professional proficiency with OR equipment : electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables Proficient in infection control, blood product administration, radiation safety, specimen handling, time out procedures, and urinary bladder catheterization Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628857.
