A NYC-based hedge fund is seeking an Assistant Controller / Sr. Fund Accountant.
Responsibilities :
- Preparation and review of NAV calculations for Master Fund and separately managed accounts
- Work on year-end audit process in collaboration with auditors and the administrator
- Review Fund tax returns and K-1s
- Calculate management and incentive fees
- Manage relationships with Fund Administrator and Auditors
- Review daily cash and position reconciliations
- Daily interaction with prime brokers to resolve account differences
- Assist with compliance related matters
- Work closely with the accounting team on projects that include system and reporting implementation
- Provide guidance and be a mentor to junior team members
- Assist team with data analytics and various internal / external reporting tasks
- Work on with ad hoc projects
Qualifications :
- 4 year college degree
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Hedge Fund accounting is required
- Must be able to handle multiple accounts and high volume trading activity
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong proficiency with Excel
Desired Skills :
- Accounting major preferred
- Ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented and can work independently
- Knowledge of accounting systems, and trade-order management systems would be preferable
