Overview
GovCIO is excited to invite applications for the role of Java Mainframe Developer. In this dynamic position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing mission-critical applications that support the DCSA background investigation processes. While previous legacy or mainframe experience is not mandatory, a strong willingness to learn these technologies is essential. You will provide architecture, development, and cybersecurity support for High Value Assets (HVAs) within the background investigation system. This role offers the flexibility of a remote working environment.
Responsibilities
Design and develop applications in accordance with specifications utilizing the appropriate tools.
Maintain and update existing software applications to ensure optimal performance.
Analyze system requirements including input / output needs, information flow, and software / hardware requirements.
Make modifications to and maintain operational programs and procedures as needed.
Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
Document programming operations, user guides, and operations documentation as per established standards.
Diagnose and resolve software problems, and respond to suggestions for improvements.
Collaborate as a team member on various projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of related experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Must be eager to learn legacy technologies and tools, including Natural.
A proven track record of 4 to 6 years in Java development.
Expertise in building web-based applications.
Comprehensive knowledge of Java and JEE.
Experience working in agile environments.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely within a team.
Clearance Required : US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a TS Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Active Security Clearance at the Top-Secret level or higher.
Strong proficiency with IBM's Connect : Direct for file transfers.
Experience programming in Natural with ADABAS.
Familiarity with Software AG's NaturalONE Eclipse-based environment.
Experience with IBM MQ.
Knowledge of Confluence and Jira.
Basic understanding of ServiceNow.
Comfortable hosting meetings via MS Teams.

Posted Salary Range
The anticipated salary for this position ranges from USD $82,000.00 to USD $95,000.00 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors.
