Job Summary

The University of Utah Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a full time Quality Assurance Analyst for our Ryan White Program. The University of Utah Ryan White Program provides vital medical care, social service assistance, and advocacy for people and communities living with HIV / AIDS in Utah and across the Mountain West.

The Quality Assurance Analyst supports the HIV Program to achieve internal and external programmatic goals by developing and monitoring the key financial, operational, and quality metrics that drive process improvement initiatives for the Program. This position interfaces with all aspects of the University of Utah Ryan White Program – including grant writing; data collection, reporting, and analytics; and relationship building with Program teams and community partners. Ensuring quality and compliance across the Ryan White B, C, and D programs, the Quality Assurance Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining and growing each of the Health Resources and Services Administration ( HRSA ) grants that fund each program. The Quality Assurance Analyst will evaluate day-to-day programmatic operations; develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; manage and optimize data collection processes; coordinate and implement quality improvement initiatives; and participate in state and national program meetings. Effective communication and collaboration, adaptability, and exceptional organizational skills are critical for the Quality Assurance Analyst to effectively support and grow the Ryan White Program at University of Utah Health.

The Quality Assurance Analyst will work closely with the Program Manager under the direction of the HIV Program Director to meet the many needs of the HIV Program teams and patients.

Responsibilities

Evaluates data collection & reporting processes and identifies opportunities to improve communication efficiency and effectiveness and data-driven decision-making.

Supports the Ryan White Program Manager to manage day-to-day program operations and administration – including billing processes and developing and implementing policies and procedures to advance the program.

Provides feedback to assist in the creation of performance improvement goals and the development and implementation of best-practice policies & procedures.

Forecasts and monitors expenditures related to patient care for the Ryan White Patients for improved finance and budget management throughout grant years.

Manages TRAX data entry, data quality, and data reporting.

Maintains data in spreadsheets to document patient enrollment progress in Ryan White, insurance, and re-certification in a detail-oriented manor.

Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that monitor the needs of patients and recommends programmatic improvement based on this information.

Assists Program Manager and HIV Program Director in preparing grant proposals, audit reports, and other HRSA -required documents by collecting and reporting necessary data and supporting project and / or initiative narratives.

Supports quality meetings to ensure consistency in clinic operations and ensuring quality assurance goals are met.

Analyze quality assurance data to identify trends and report findings to leadership.

Provides input on problem identification and resolution and continuous quality improvement.

Works collaboratively with Program Manager in supporting Program needs.

Remain current on policies and procedures for all operations and local, state, and national health policies relating to HIV / AIDs care.

Participates in and prepares for monthly and quarterly calls with HRSA Project Officer and the Utah Department of Health.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in related area, four years of related customer service experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

Quality assurance experience in a customer service or health care environment may be required.

Preferences

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite – but specifically Microsoft Excel.

Familiarity with medical billing processes is helpful.
