Description

Location : Harrisonburg, VA, The Community Corrections Alternative Program (CCAP) is an alternative program to incarceration, giving probationers and parolees the opportunity to engage in treatment, education, vocational training, and employment in a structured setting in order to promote long lasting public safety.

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 10 : 00 am - 7 : 00 pm (3 days per week) and 12 : 00 pm - 9 : 00 pm (2 days per week) with a 1-hour unpaid meal break.

Pay rate : $26.44 / hr. ($55,000 annually). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification / license are eligible for $28.85 / hr. ($60,000 annually).

    • The Counselor is responsible for :

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
  • Facilitating psycho-educational and process groups as defined by the curriculum.
  • Providing individual counseling according to timeframes established per program and documenting each session according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining clinical records in accordance with contractual and Spectrum standards.
  • Serving as a role model / mentor for program participants while maintaining professional boundaries and addressing participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum's clinical design.

    • Qualifications

    Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
  • State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification / license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is preferred
  • Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
