POSITION : Nursing Faculty

NATURE OF POSITION : Full-Time Faculty Contract (167 days Appointment), 1.0 FTE

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP :

The position of Nursing Faculty reports to the Director of Nursing Education and Dean of General Education and Health Sciences.

PURPOSE / SUMMARY OF JOB :

The faculty member is responsible for delivery of instruction to students in the Associate's Degree Nursing Program. The position includes classroom teaching, clinical and lab supervision as well as student advisement, participation in department, divisional and college-wide activities, curriculum development, accreditation compliance activities, and professional development. The faculty member functions as a team member of a program area / department and a division. The faculty member will be dynamic, creative and committed to teaching excellence, and have a passion for continuous improvement and assessment of student learning. The faculty member shall perform all duties while promoting opportunities for inclusion, expressing the valuing of differences, and regularly demonstrating the college's commitment to the Guiding Principles. Teaching assignments may include alternative delivery settings which include synchronous video, evening, night and weekend offerings. Travel to a variety of clinical sites is required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with evidence that an active plan is in place to complete an MSN Degree within a negotiated timeframe.
  • Current Unencumbered Colorado R.N. license in good standing without restrictions.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Colorado Career and Technical Education Teaching Credential (must have 4000 hours of paid nursing experience in the last 5 years).
  • Two (2) years recent experience in professional clinical nursing practice.
  • Willingness to complete and maintain compliance with all clinical partner requirements (vaccinations, drug screens, CPR, training, etc.).
  • Must be willing and able to travel as required by position needs and hold a valid State of Colorado Driver's License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Teaching experience in a post- secondary professional nursing program.
  • Five (5) years of recent experience in professional nursing practice.
  • Demonstrated success in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Anticipated Start Date : August 2024

    Salary and Benefits :

    $58,710-$76,845 (includes premium pay for high-demand health positions), based on education, skills and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental insurance, vision, LTD & benefit package including tuition reimbursement in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies. No relocation assistance is provided.

    About Morgan Community College (MCC) :

    MCC is one of 13 colleges comprising the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). The college has been named a Great College to Work For by the Chronicle of Higher Education in the past decade.

    MCC is located on I-76, 80 miles northeast of Denver and approximately 100 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park. MCC provides high quality transferable courses and career & technical education culminating in a variety of certificate, associate, and baccalaureate degree programs through traditional, innovative, and non-traditional delivery methods in an 11,500 square mile regional area of eastern Colorado.

    The College serves this vast, rural, agricultural area from its main campus in Fort Morgan and through four regional locations in Bennett, Limon, Burlington and Wray. These locations are 75 to 150 miles from the campus in Fort Morgan.

    Background Check :
