Position Summary
The Buyer II is responsible for the procurement of goods and services supporting production and R&D operations. This role ensures the timely availability of materials to meet manufacturing schedules and project requirements while maintaining compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards. The Buyer II will evaluate supplier performance, identify new sources of supply, and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to support continuous improvement in supply chain performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and validate purchase requisitions for accuracy and procedural compliance. Evaluate open and closed purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and qualify suppliers to obtain the best value in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers to meet business needs.
- Monitor supplier performance and work to resolve delivery or quality issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure purchased materials meet all specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain continuous communication with suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time material availability.
- Generate, expedite, and track purchase orders and blanket orders in alignment with production schedules and forecasts.
- Manage inventory levels and support Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to meet established inventory goals.
- Support supplier qualification and corrective action processes as needed.
- Maintain compliance with QSR (Quality System Regulations), FDA, ISO, and company standards.
- Participate in initiatives to streamline purchasing processes and eliminate non–value-added steps.
- Provide regular updates to management and cross-functional partners regarding material availability, lead times, and supplier issues.
- Source and quote production materials, services, tooling, and supplies in accordance with standard procedures.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications : Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.1-5+ years of experience in Operations, Purchasing, or Supply Chain within a medical device or other highly regulated / high-tech manufacturing environment.Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems; SAP preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of FDA GMP and ISO certification requirements.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and resolve supplier conflicts.Seniority level
