About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Traveling Project Engineer with 0–2 years of experience to join our growing construction team. Note : This position is focused exclusively on heavy construction projects . Applicants with only commercial or vertical building experience will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Support Project Managers and Superintendents with all aspects of daily construction operations.
Maintain project schedules, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Coordinate communication between field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management.
Assist with jobsite inspections, safety meetings, and progress tracking.
Help manage project budgets, costs, and production reporting.
Solve real-world construction challenges in dynamic field environments.
Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and specification requirements.
Travel regularly to project sites across the country.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
0–2 years of experience (internships or co-ops in heavy construction preferred).
Strong interest in infrastructure projects — roads, bridges, earthwork, utilities.
Commitment to field-based, heavy civil construction , not commercial or vertical work.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office ; familiarity with project management software a plus.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical drawings .
Willingness and ability to travel extensively to active jobsites nationwide.
Based in or open to relocating to Colorado .
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary : $80,000 – $100,000, based on experience.
