Financial Controller
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Financial Controller at a very well-established business based in North-Kent. This position will report directly to the Managing Director and is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a similar position looking for the next step in their career.
Duties Include but are not limited to :
- Preparing P&L statements and monthly closing and accounting reports
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts
- Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting procedures
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy
- Prepare and analyse reporting information for budget, revenue, expense, payroll, cost, variances and more
- Analyse revenue and expenditure trends
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases and accounts software systems
- Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports
- Interact with internal and external audits and auditing queries
- Develop the annual operating budget
- Provide accounting policy orientation
- Manage and supervise finance staff and provide necessary training sessions
- Compile weekly KPIs
- Control cashflow short and long term
- Select and authorise payments for AP in line with cashflow and payment terms
- Compile and reconcile VAT returns
- Payroll duties
The ideal candidate will :
- Have proven experience in a similar position
- Be Qualified, minimum AAT.
- Have an excellent understanding of General Accounting Principles
- Have meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Have a proactive can-do attitude and not be afraid to get stuck in and take on any task
