About The Position

Must-Have :

Titration of vesicant medications.

Familiarity with pressors.

Sedation and paralytics experience.

Experience with ventilators and tracheostomy care.

Telemetry interpretation skills.

Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter set up and interpretation.

Transvenous pacing.

Cardioversion.

Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE).

Familiarity with chest tube insertions and maintenance.

Description :

The position is for a registered nurse specializing in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.

The unit has a total of 16 beds.

Patient ratios may be 2 : 1 or 1 : 1, occasionally 3 : 1 based on acuity.

Nurses are supported by unit secretaries and techs.

The unit utilizes equipment such as ventilators, telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy.

There is a focus on advanced skills such as IABP, Impella, and CRRT.

The workflow includes various procedures such as cardioversion, central line insertions, endoscopies, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis.

This role may require floating to other areas as needed.

Candidates should adhere to the dress code, which requires navy or navy and white scrubs.

No pullovers or hoodies are permitted.

Candidates are encouraged to consider modern technology and equipment available on the unit.

Leadership prioritizes a supportive and collegial environment among staff.

The unit has strong recognition for teamwork and outstanding performance.
