Target Salary : $100,000-115,000
Bonus / Incentives / Stock Options : up to 15% annual bonus
Job Summary : Ensure that all supplied products meet quality, engineering, and manufacturing specifications. This role focuses on preventing defects, resolving non-conformances, and driving supplier process improvements. The position works collaboratively across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to develop supplier capability, implement robust quality practices, and support cost reduction initiatives.
Job Duties :
- Conduct Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) reviews and ensure conformance to specifications
- Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new product introductions with suppliers
- Investigate, define, and resolve supplier quality non-conformances, vet corrective actions for effectiveness
- Conduct supplier audits and coaches for continuous improvement
- Identify process gaps and recommend corrective actions
- Apply advanced knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes to guide solutions and improvements
- Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and operations to develop supplier capability effectively
- Support purchasing in cost reduction and supplier cost recovery projects
- Report regularly to leadership on supplier performance and quality issues
Candidates will have the opportunity to focus on specialized areas, including welding and fabrication quality or global supplier management, depending on experience and interest.
Opening 1 : Welding & Fabrication Quality
Ensure compliance with welding processes, symbols, visual acceptance criteria, and industry codesEvaluate fabrication processes, including laser cutting, forming, welding, and painting.Support manufacturing fixture design and usageProvide guidance on process enhancements to improve product qualityOpening 2 : Global Supplier Management
Manage assigned global suppliers to ensure quality and complianceLead and manage nonconforming material investigations, including containment, rework, and cost recoveryProgram-manage supplier capability improvement projects with documented plans and deadlinesEvaluate quality notifications (QN) and corrective responses from suppliersWork closely with PR Design Engineering and Purchasing to ensure supplied components meet specificationsQualifications :
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) or equivalent training / experienceExtensive experience with manufacturing processes, welding, fabrication, machining, or electrical rotating equipmentProficient in PPAP, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and capability analysisStrong leadership, collaboration, and communication skillsCreative problem-solving ability, including 8D and 5-Why methodologyAbility to travel up to 50%Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
