Job Description : Overview
Operate a service truck and drive to projects throughout Specified locations for the repair, service, and maintenance of Heavy Equipment and other equipment in the field environment. This will include basic repair knowledge and troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and engine components. Welding and DOT compliance knowledge is a plus. Experience in Gomaco paving equipment is a Plus
Regular Job Duties
Operate a service truck and drive to projects to perform maintenance and repair work on equipment and other construction equipment. Perform a variety of skilled duties which may involve inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair, and some welding Read, understand, and fill out service-related documents and paperwork in a timely manner. Read and interpret specifications, manuals and order parts Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure maintenance activities on performed in a timely manner Clean and maintain work vehicle and work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment Safely use hand and power tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices Communicate effectively with vendors, supervisors, drivers and operators Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety Assist other mechanics with various repairs Other unlisted duties will be assigned
Job Requirements
Five or more years of experience as a Heavy Equipment / diesel mechanic, preferably in the field Lift, push, or pull and move up to seventy (70) pounds. Climb, kneel, twist, and bend in a various environment "Must have own hand tools" Be able to work with high level of physical activity performing strenuous activities of a primarily hands-on nature Have manual dexterity enough to use tools and work with the fingers Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications, Bi-lingual is a plus Ability to apply concepts of basic Math concepts including calculating rate, ratio, and percent Valid driver license and clean driving record Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
