Quality Manager

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quality Manager to lead the quality function in our high-precision tire mold manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product and process quality, managing a small quality team, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 5-axis CNC machining, quality systems, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities : Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality team : Quality Engineer, Quality Technician, and two Quality Inspectors. Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization. Maintain and improve the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001. Prepare for and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. Oversee inspection and validation of tire molds produced via 5AXL CNC machining. Review and approve quality documentation including control plans, inspection reports, and PPAP submissions. Monitor and analyze quality metrics (e.g., scrap, rework, customer complaints) and drive corrective actions. Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities for non-conforming products. Oversee root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions (CAPA) using tools like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams. Ensure timely disposition of non-conforming materials and documentation. Collaborate with Programming and Production to improve process capability and reduce variation. Maintain accurate records of inspections, non-conformances, calibration, and training. Generate and present quality performance reports to senior management. Ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer requirements and expectations. Monitor and improve turnaround time for quality-related issues and customer feedback. Serve as the primary quality contact for customer concerns and audits. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field). 5+ years of experience in quality management within a precision manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of 5-axis CNC machining and mold manufacturing processes. Proven experience managing a quality team. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 or similar standards. Proficient in GD&T, CMM inspection, and metrology tools. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Skills : Experience with CAD / CAM software (e.g., Siemens NX, Mastercam). Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) or equivalent experience applying Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, SIPOC, FMEA, Control Charts, etc.) Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, and SPC.
