Part-Time RISE Program Assistant

Hourly Rate : $17.17

This position is an on-campus, part-time, up-to 19-hour appointment based in Champaign, Illinois.

Assistant is responsible for assisting in the promotion and execution of RISE

recruiting, events, programs, and initiatives. More information may be found online at : RISE Program .

Essential

Job Functions :

Provide clerical and administrative support to the Dean of Students / Director and Assistant Dean of Students

Assist in preparing for and execution of RISE events and activities

Assist and monitor students in the Learning Commons during scheduled study table hours

Develop materials for print and social media

Facilitate production of printed materials in the campus print shop.

Serve as a Parkland brand ambassador to the community

Assist in developing and executing programming, including workshops, presentations, speakers, social events and other programming as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum

Requirements :

Associate's degree with 2 years of experience in an educational setting.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn Parkland College's CRM (Slate), and other programs.

Ability to learn design software and produce professional-looking documents.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.

Ability to work some evenings and weekend days.

Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment, 5-year federal background check with fingerprinting. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act.
