Technical Support Specialist – Position Overview
Weber State University – Department of Automotive Technology seeks a part-time Technical Support Specialist to provide desktop support, system monitoring, and technical troubleshooting for faculty and staff.
Responsibilities
- Deliver desktop and peripheral support for faculty, staff, and students.
- Monitor and maintain system performance, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist with user account creation, password resets, and software installation.
- Document support requests and maintain accurate records in the ticketing system.
- Collaborate with the Information Technology team to improve technical support processes.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.Strong communication skills and a customer-service orientation.Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and network concepts.Preferred : Past customer service experience and computer troubleshooting skills.Benefits
Hourly rate of $14.75 with a $0.25 / hr raise after initial training.Flexible work schedule around core hours (8 : 00 AM – 6 : 00 PM, M-F).Part-time schedule, 20-28 hours per week, 12 months per year.Opportunity to gain experience in higher education technology infrastructure.Application Process
