People & Culture Generalist (Full-Time)
The People & Culture Generalist administers key HR operations with a focus on payroll, benefits, and compliance. Partnering with the Senior Director of People & Culture, the Generalist maintains data integrity, streamlines processes, and enhances the overall employee experience.
Key responsibilities include :
- Administers health and welfare benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Provides recruitment support in collaboration with the People & Culture Coordinator.
- Assists the Senior Director of People & Culture with the development and enhancement of employee programs.
- Collaborates with the Museum's safety personnel and the Senior Director of People & Culture to administer the workers' compensation program.
- Maintains accurate employee records by processing all HRIS transactions.
- Assists with annual audits of workers' compensation and the retirement plan.
- Processes semi-monthly payroll and manages all related functions.
- Administers payroll data, including garnishments, paid time off, benefits deductions.
- Manages monthly benefits invoicing and reconciliation.
- Responds to HR inquiries requiring advanced knowledge of policies.
- Manages employment verification requests.
- Maintains and analyzes HR data to produce reports.
- Assists with employee relations documentation.
- Prepares compliance reports for EEO-1 and OSHA 300A filings.
- Tracks completion of required safety and compliance training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include :
Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least three (3) years of experience in a similar capacity.Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations, benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee relations.Familiarity with Applicant Tracking and HRIS systems required.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and problem-solving skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Collaborative and team-oriented; contributes to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.Physical Requirements & Work Environment :
