Patient Services Representative
A Patient Services Representative welcomes patients, educates them on copayments and financial obligations, collects payments, schedules appointments, and updates patient information. They promote new technologies, connect patients to financial resources, and foster a culture of service excellence, ensuring a positive UPMC experience for patients and families. This position will primarily work Monday through Friday daylight shifts. Occasional Evening & Saturdays may be needed.
Responsibilities :
Education : High school graduate or equivalent is required. Associates Degree preferred. Two years of experience in a high volume medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function is preferred. Previous Outpatient office experience is preferred. Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems is preferred. Experience with personal computer-based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills are preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
