Syndeo Staffing is searching for the right person to join a family-owned ag-fertilizer supply company as a CDL Driver in El Dorado, KS.
This is a direct hire opportunity.
CDL drivers are responsible for delivering freight safely and promptly while obeying all Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations and laws regarding operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle.
Drivers must be able to reliably commute to and from El Dorado, KS, and travel 100% of the time.
Schedule : Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM
Pay : $18-$22 / hour BOE + freight incentive pay
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer truck and / or flatbed.
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or heavy machinery.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Comply with all DOT and FMCSA regulations while driving.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment used on the job.
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery / pick-up times.
- Perform routine basic preventative maintenance on company vehicles and equipment as needed.
- Comply with ICC and DOT regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Education / Certification :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old at the time of employment due to Interstate regulations
- Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License
- Must have or be willing and able to obtain a tanker endorsement
- Must have a clean driving record, that is, no DUI's and no more than 3 moving violations in the previous 5 years
Required Knowledge :
- Strong knowledge and experience with Federal and State Department of Transportation laws and regulations
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver
Skills / Abilities :
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be reliable to maintain an irregular work schedule
- Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and a drug screen and possess a valid medical certification
Working Conditions :
OTR, regional, and local pick-ups and delivery. This will often mean extended time away from home, including overnight and frequent weekends.
