Coronary Care / Critical Care Unit
Position Summary :
Responsible for administration and management of services and personnel in assigned nursing unit(s). Responsible for overseeing the nursing plan of care for patients within the assigned unit.Responsible to see that the nursing plan of care meets the physiological and emotional needs of the patients served.Directs patient care through performance and / or leadership of patient care team members and patient care management staff. Assists in the coordination of patient care through the appropriate utilization of all resources : staff, equipment, supplies, etc. As an expert to manage the assigned specialty, is a resource to both the medical center staff and physicians.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the McLaren Health Care / Affiliate vision, mission, and values.
- Maintains operational responsibility for nursing and health care services on the unit.
- Promotes positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors and employees. Follows up on complaints and provides feedback. Monitors level of patient, staff and physician satisfaction.
- Promotes collaboration regarding patient care issues with various staff levels and disciplines. In collaboration with other members of the leadership team and the Education Staff, ensures staff participation in orientation, mandatory and continuing education programs and other staff development opportunities.
- Demonstrates leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching and research.
Qualifications : Required :
Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in MichiganBSN or enrollment in BSN program to be completed within 2-yearsA minimum of 3 years job-related experienceA minimum of 2 years demonstrated leadership performanceBLS CertificationACLS CertificationPreferred :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related health care field
