Job description

SPT Labtech is growing – and we’re looking for a dynamic Sales Specialist - Structural Biology to help us expand within the fast-growing US Structural Biology market. This is a high-impact role where you’ll play a key part in delivering cutting-edge automated liquid handling solutions to researchers driving discoveries across Structural Biology.

We’re seeking a highly organized and proactive sales professional with a strong background in Life Sciences and a solid understanding of the Structural Biology product market. Your key responsibilities will include :

  • Promotion, market development and sales of SPT Labtech’s liquid handling product lines into the structural biology, protein crystallography and Cryo-EM domain across the United States.
  • Managing every pre-sale activity until purchasing order and supporting post sales activities.
  • Work with existing Territory Managers and applications teams to support all sales related facets of strategic alignment, relationship management, sales process and engagement in Structural Biology.
  • Work with the product management, sales and marketing teams to drive instrument and consumable adoption of SPT products in the broader structural biology market.
  • Scheduling and conducting product presentations and demonstrations to customers.

Achieving the 10 missions listed below :

  • Knowing how to present the company, its history, its culture, its strategy, and all associated skills.
  • Effectively managing our "customer" database, proposing a global strategy based on quantifiable objectives and the means to achieve them.
  • Organizing work time according to the priorities defined to achieve own goals and those defined by the company.
  • Respecting and knowing how to implement the priorities of the company (products / strategy) and those markets covered.
  • Ensuring the development and follow-up of all opportunities by being able to build a balance between different product lines to sell and to manage an efficient sales collaboration with product specialists.
  • Building a consultative relationship and becoming a trusted advisor with our customers by a structured commercial approach based above all on the accumulation of information to propose the most adequate solution for their business.
  • Knowing how to position SPT solutions in relation to end-user’s workflows and explaining above all the benefits of the proposed solutions by using all the available communication tools (website, brochure, Slide deck, Application notes, Videos,).
  • Having a perfect command of the products and Services programs and knowing how to propose a global solution by cross selling our product range.
  • Ensuring that application knowledge is maintained at an optimal level by relying on the support functions (training, binomial tour, e-Learning).
  • Being responsible for CRM data and Management.
  • Skills & Attributes

  • You'll ideally be located in the US to contribute to the smooth running of our sales and business operations with an established network.
  • Undergraduate qualification in a Biology / Chemistry / Physics related subject, A PhD qualification in a field relevant to Structural Biology is strongly preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Significant Protein Crystallography and / or Cryo-EM domain knowledge and a keen awareness of current trends in the field.
  • Good understanding and hands-on experience of protein sample preparation and structure determination workflows.
  • A good grounding in commercial and business principles, ideally with proven experience in a capital equipment sales role in the Life Sciences Market.
  • Ability to conduct presentations in front of varying audiences.
  • Familiar with CRM use as a central sales tool. Experience with Salesforce would be desirable.
  • Autonomous, team player and capable of working remotely.
  • Excited by the significant travel (up to 50%) in the US and based near a convenient travel hub.
