Role : Vehicle - Crash Analyst
Location : Invine, CA - Onsite
6-12+ Months Contract
Role Summary :
We are seeking a Vehicle Crash Analyst with hands-on experience in vehicle safety, crash simulations, and structural analysis . The ideal candidate will have expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and a deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, crashworthiness, occupant safety, and structural integrity . The analyst will work closely with design and testing teams to improve vehicle performance and meet global safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform crash simulation and analysis (frontal, side, rear, rollover, and pedestrian impact).
- Develop and validate FE models of vehicle structures, subsystems, and components.
- Use explicit dynamic simulation tools (e.g., LS-DYNA, PAM-CRASH, RADIOSS) for crash performance evaluation.
- Analyze crash test data and correlate simulation results with physical test outcomes.
- Support design optimization for improved safety, weight reduction, and compliance with regulatory standards (FMVSS, NCAP, IIHS, etc.).
- Generate detailed technical reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with CAD, CAE, and safety teams to implement design improvements.
- Support test planning, setup, and post-test analysis for prototype vehicles.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Aerospace Engineering.Overall IT Experience : 8-15 Years3-8 years of experience in crash analysis, vehicle safety, or CAE simulation.Proficiency in LS-DYNA / HyperMesh / ANSA / RADIOSS / Abaqus .Strong understanding of vehicle structure, materials, occupant safety, and restraint systems .Experience with crash test correlation and validation .Good knowledge of regulatory and consumer crash standards (FMVSS, ECE, NCAP, etc.).Ability to analyze large data sets and provide actionable engineering insights.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Good-to-Have Skills :
Knowledge of Python / MATLAB for data automation and post-processing.Exposure to occupant safety system modeling (airbags, seatbelts).Familiarity with optimization tools (OptiStruct, HyperStudy).Experience with battery safety and EV crash modeling is a plus.
