Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist
Pay : $25 - $27 per hour

Purpose : To provide therapeutic interventions to children under the age of 5 and their families in Douglas County
Organizational Relationships : Direct report to the Team Leader of Therapeutic Interventions of Positive Bright Start
Responsibilities :
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, provide intensive intervention for identified children. This may include, but not be limited to Play Therapy and Theraplay.In partnership with parents, identify the need for and facilitate referrals to community resources and / or additional mental health services as appropriate.Assist parents, teachers, caregivers to structure environments, routines and interactions that contribute to positive behavior possibly using positive behavior support strategies that promotes positive social emotional outcomes for children.Maintain information regarding parents or children, or other information of a personal nature shared by a parent in confidence.Offer resources and strategies to parents and staff to enhance relationships, create appropriate environments, and teach social-emotional skills in children.Maintain appropriate and timely electronic records for all clients.Collect and maintain assessment data as required by any and all grants that provide funding for this position.Lead or co-lead parenting classes or workshops as assigned.Other :
Participate with other staff members in PBS activities such as all staff meetings, agency fundraisers and community events, training events, etc.Maintain a cooperative working atmosphere with coworkersAssist with office upkeep, as assignedOther duties, as assigned by supervisorQualifications :
Licensed Mental Health Clinician   MSW, MFT, LPC or related fieldPlay Therapy experienceTheraplay or Attachment training preferredEarly childhood experienceStrengths PerspectiveKnowledge of community organizations, agencies and resources Able to establish rapport and communicate with a wide variety of people Good oral, written and phone communication skillsAbility to pass KBI child abuse / neglect registry checkThis position is grant funded.
