Job Description

Essentra is currently hiring an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) who will focus on day-to-day development and execution of the inside sales strategy at Essentra Components to drive revenue and sales growth. This individual will act as the liaison between the company and the customer, responsible for creating long-term, trusting relationships, develop existing business, and actively seeking new sales opportunities. The Inside Sales Representative will utilize customer, product, and industry specific knowledge to engage and grow the customer base. This is a hybrid position that will work in our Hoffman Estates, IL office 3 days per week.

Typical Accountabilities :

  • Develop new business with existing customers and / or qualify new opportunities
  • Follow up on leads and work diligently to convert leads to new sales
  • Conduct cold calls to new and existing customers to build relationships, speak to decision makers, and gain new sales, renew sales, or expand sales.
  • Coordinate with the Manager to manage large projects and multi-step opportunities through CRM / Pipeline Report
  • Collaborate with purchasing departments, managers, and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly.
  • Periodically prepare and report results, status of accounts, and leads to manager.
  • Apply knowledge of the field and product features to match products to the needs of clients.
  • Answer inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.
  • Provide product information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.
  • Ensure orders, samples are entered and shipped accurately and on-time.
  • Responsible for quoting catalog items as well as simple non-stock items.
  • Report weekly updates within territory in regard to new opportunities, wins or losses.
  • Maintain customer database by entering new accounts, maintaining existing accounts and consistently adding relevant notes.
  • Ensure that the Essentra Components service proposition is being executed on a daily basis.
  • Acquire and maintain product knowledge and market trends
  • Participate in weekly meetings as well as cross functional management meetings.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • At least 2 years of related work experience in a sales or customer service-oriented role.
  • A college degree in business, marketing or related field is a plus but not required.
  • Experience working for an industrial products company is preferred but not required.
  • Must be motivated, persuasive and dedicated.
  • Willingness to be managed by KPI's and work toward specific daily / weekly / monthly goals.
  • Must be able to identify and assess customers’ needs to exceed their expectations.
  • Willingness to work in the office 3 days a week.
  • Willingness to make cold calls and speak confidently to customers over the phone.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works effectively with others by openly sharing ideas, identify with common goals, encourage communication and avoid conflict
  • Delivers expected results by acting in a focused way and reacting positively to frustration. Be willing to adapt to changes and different circumstances
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve process and increase productivity
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Must be patient, empathetic and be able to put oneself in the customers’ shoes
  • Must be a positive thinker and team player.

  • A hands-on / can do attitude driven by the will to accomplish tasks
  • Experience using a CRM tool to track sales activity is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Have the ability to manage challenging customers in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Willing to adapt to changes and different circumstances
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve process and increase productivity
  • What We Offer :

    This position offers a competitive base salary, quarterly bonus incentive, full benefits package, and generous paid time off.

    The expected base salary for this position is $55,000 - $62,000 and there is also a quarterly bonus target. The actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, and overall qualifications of the individual hired for this role.
