The Senior Carpenter will repair and maintain the LPCH building structures and elements to code, and in a fine / as-new condition. Provides oversight and coordinates the work of other Carpenters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

  • Receives work orders and assigns work to other Carpenters.
  • Confers with and advises Carpenters and management on technical problems
  • Builds, and installs lockers, cabinets, doors, and partitions for offices, examining rooms, and other medical areas, as requisitioned and does remodeling and alteration work.
  • Keeps record of time spent per job, and lumber and hardware, used.
  • Maintains smoke and fire partitions per the Life Safety Code.
  • May lay new flooring of linoleum, asphalt, rubber, or vinyl tile. Patches floors of any type, replacing worn spots.
  • Performs all re-glazing tasks within capabilities of shop tools and equipment, and according to recognized trade standards.
  • Repairs furniture, including desks, tables, chairs. Repairs locks and latches, also installs new locks as necessary. Repairs and replaces door checks, repairs various millworks such as moldings, sashes, doors, cornices, floors, and stairways.
  • Focused and detailed work on intricate redwood walls and corian baseboards.
  • Construction and repair of walls, frames, doors and floors that meet the Life Safety and building codes, and engineering specifications, and inspects equipment and structures to ensure safety and are up to code.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education : High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Experience : Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

License / Certification :

  • CA Driver's License by Department of Motor Vehicles
  • KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of fine finishes to trimming around joints and openings, walls, doors, shelving and closets
  • Ability to train and evaluate work product of craft workers and vendors

  • Ability to operate standard and specialized tools, instruments and equipment used on the job
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches

  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
  • Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance and repair
  • Skill in the use of tools, machines, and equipment used to manufacture and install finish woods and trims for baseboards, windows, walls, stairs and other design elements.

    Pay Range

    Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

    Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

    Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

    Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly) : $54.94 to $62.31
