Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in Pediatrics to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and adolescents with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
As a Pediatrics SLP, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals and families to provide comprehensive care.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct assessments to evaluate speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient needs, and evidence-based practice.
- Provide direct therapy services to pediatric patients in individual or group settings.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Educate and train parents / caregivers on strategies to support speech, language, and communication development at home.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
- Stay current with advances in the field of pediatric speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development activities.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality and obtaining informed consent.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a clinical or school setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based assessment and intervention techniques for pediatric speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help pediatric patients achieve their communication and swallowing goals.
