Assistant Coach (10th Grade)

Purpose Statement

The role of Assistant Coach will assist the head coach in the organization development and leadership of the 10th grade team. Duties may include coordinating practice planning skill development and designing strategies which prepare the team for competition; mentoring student-athletes; assisting with camps; collaborating with other coaches; and demonstrating adherence to district conference and state association rules and regulations.

Job Title : Assistant Coach (10th Grade)

Reports To : Head Coach (10th Grade) / Head Varsity Coach

Wage / Hour Status : Exempt (Stipend)

Minimum Qualifications :

• Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season.
• Previous experience coaching preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead instruct and supervise students athletes and a coaching staff.
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm.

The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands : lifting carrying pushing pulling climbing reaching driving standing and walking.
