Senior Project Manager - IT
WCF Insurance's IT department is seeking a Senior Project Manager who can demonstrate the WCF values. This role oversees information-system projects and manages integration for business efficiency. Responsibilities include project budgeting, planning, documentation, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and establishing clear objectives with business and IT teams. The Senior Project Manager monitors technical staff, ensures projects meet business goals on schedule and within budget, and designs processes to control scope, resources, risks, and value.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate project efforts, including scoping, estimation, resource allocation, schedule creation, budget creation, task execution, status tracking and reporting, issue management, risk management, and change management.
- Coordinate integration and development of system applications to meet business needs and enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate and monitor work of cross functional teams, ensuring that project steps are aligned with business objectives, schedule and budget.
- Able to manage large, complex projects with little to no supervision or guidance. Self-motivated and able to take initiative to dig into the details. Able to challenge and clarify assumptions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify successful and unsuccessful project practices
- Manage both waterfall and agile methodology projects.
- Accountable for the coordination and application of appropriate project management techniques and methodologies to increase probability of project success.
- Responsible for facilitating communication among all involved parties.
- Responsible for coordination of project efforts to maximize efficiency of resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information systems, business, or related field, preferred.At least eight years of experience managing complex software development and implementation projects.Strong skills in influential leadership, written and verbal communications, interpersonal relations, managing expectations, organization, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, negotiation, adaptability, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, team building, escalation, and critical thinking.A certification, such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or demonstrated knowledge of project management principles described in the PMBOK.Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, other), methodologies, and best practices. Also proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Project management process development and improvement experience preferred.Willingness to work with technical teams on technical aspects of project deliverables.Commercial insurance knowledge preferred.An internal candidate should have six months in their current position, acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.
