Role Description

This is a 1st shift position.

Working within a Reliability Based Maintenance environment, the HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining the company's heating, ventilating, airconditioning and refrigeration systems. They assemble, install, operate, calibrate, diagnose, dismantle, and repair all types of domestic, commercial, and industrial refrigeration / chiller units, and a wide variety of heating / air conditioning / ventilating systems as well as humidity control and air balance systems.

The HVAC Technician will be responsible for the following activities :

• Performing preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to HVAC equipment including but not limited to air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, motors, valves, heat exchangers, controls, and compressors.
• Operating Building Automation Systems (BAS) and equipment control systems. They are also responsible for staying current with older technologies as well as stateoftheart technologies, such as direct digital control (DDC) systems, etc.
• Provides training to other technicians with respect to operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems to maintain the equipment in compliance with company standards, procedures, and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc).
• Serves as maintenance advisor to provide input to projects in areas of equipment design, parts and material selection, documentation, testing, problem solving, maintenance requirements, project scope, and followup.
• Position requires daily or frequent interaction with Engineering Director, Maintenance Manager, Production Management and Supervision, Engineers, Quality Operations, Maintenance Technicians, Production Operators, Contractors, and Vendors.
• Position requires the ability to be on-call periodically during off hours and weekends.
• Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
• Responsible for conducting air balancing within the manufacturing spaces to ensure proper air flow patterns.
• Conducts testing and certification of HEPA filtration within the classified areas of the manufacturing facility.
