PCU Registered Nurse Job Details
Location : Lafayette, Indiana (47905) – Indiana nursing jobs
Facility Setting : Short-Term Acute Care, Cardiac and Medical Progressive Care Unit (ICU Stepdown)
Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 2 / 2025 – End : 3 / 3 / 2026)
Shift : Night Shift, 3x12-hour block scheduling (Friday–Sunday, 18 : 00–06 : 30)
Hours per Week : 36 (guaranteed)
Estimated Weekly Salary : $1770 - $1820
Unit Size : 27 beds
Scrub Color : Red top, black bottoms
Charting System : Cerner
Parking : Free onsite parking
PCU RN Qualifications
Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit RN experience, including recent Charge RN experience
Active Indiana Registered Nurse license (must be in hand prior to start date)
Required certifications : ACLS, BLS (NIHSS preferred)
Proficient in telemetry, IV starts, cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Experience in Level I, II, III, or IV acute care settings
Charge nurse experience required
Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs
Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Two supervisor references required
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
Serve as Charge RN, providing leadership and clinical support to the PCU nursing team
Deliver high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric populations in an ICU stepdown environment
Monitor and manage cardiac and medical patients, including those requiring heart catheterizations, BiPAP, and vasoactive drips (Levo, Dopamine, Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone)
Initiate and maintain IVs, administer blood products, and manage central and peripheral lines
Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to rapid response / code situations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner
