Position Summary

The Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Associate position holds the responsibility for the safe, reliable, and economic round-the-clock operation of the generation, electric transmission and distribution systems. Duties include Civil Engineering related responsibilities for the design, construction, and maintenance activities of our transmission lines, substations, distribution system, and others.

Approval by Business Unit Executive Leadership, as related to the business need for Engineering Associate 2's without their EIT. Ability to effectively work as an individual contributor and contributing team member. Ability to handle complex assignments with minimum supervision. Ability to work in a team environment, coordinating with other related areas to complete tasks and projects. Ability to research and solve problems. Effective interpersonal skills and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships with coworkers and customers. Demonstrates proficiency in basic management of projects and assignments. Ability to work call duty and occasional unscheduled work in the evenings, weekends, or holidays after experience level permits. Ability to travel occasionally, to off-site work, to seminars, manufacturing plant inspections, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling. Working Environment

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Employee may potentially be exposed to hazardous chemicals, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather, noisy and dusty environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business events. After hours work may be required. Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
