At Red Hat, we connect an innovative community of customers, partners, and contributors to deliver an open source stack of trusted, high-performing solutions. We offer cloud, Linux, middleware, storage, and virtualization technologies, together with award-winning global customer support, consulting, and implementation services. Red Hat is a rapidly growing company supporting more than 90% of Fortune 500 companies.

The Red HatConsulting team is looking for an Automation Architect to join us. The primary responsibility of the Automation Architect is to passionately drive the adoption of Red Hat's solution in our key enterprise accounts, government agencies and service provider partners. Through a series of interactions both in-person and remote the Automation Architect will win the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development and operations teams by aligning their requirements and use cases with the functional capabilities of the solution.

Work closely with product business units, product engineering, consulting, support, and sales to ensure a world-class customer experience with Red Hat's products.

Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk.

Demonstrate thought leadership in Devops community by producing world-class white papers, webinars; code contributions to relevant projects; and speaking at industry leading conferences.

Travel frequently (30-40 weeks per year) to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers.

What you will bring :

A background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain.

4+ years of experience in a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Architect consulting delivery role.

2+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures.

Strong background in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization or within the services division of a major software company.

Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives.

Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms.

Proven track record supporting solution sales throughout the delivery lifecycle by identifying and proposing solutions to improve the client experience including training, consulting, account management and products.

The ability to self-study and quickly learn and put into practice new topics

Passion for Open Source, software, tooling, and automation.

Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools and how they can be applied within an organization.

Thorough working knowledge and hands-on experience with Ansible, as well as high-level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and others in the space.

Intermediate level scripting (bash, python.)

Desired Skills :

Experience implementing a CI / CD pipeline.

Broad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. OpenStack, RHEV, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure).

Experience across one or more vertical industry areas preferred.

Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the Open Source communities via Email and IRC.

Experience working in a QA role or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools is preferred.

Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure (including cloud / hypervisor) and operating system level.

After joining Red Hat, you will go through an intensive training program on advanced automation concepts, and Ansible Automation Platform components as it relates to automating IT technologies, DevOps, GitOps and how to seed deeper automation adoption with our customers.
