About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant for a 50-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting Jan 5, 2026. This opportunity involves first assisting in the OR, providing floor coverage, and participating in a robust call schedule with day shifts beginning at 7am and ending when the last case concludes. The position offers a dynamic environment focused on surgical care, without post-op clinic responsibilities.

- Schedule : Monday-Thursday first assist in OR or floor coverage, 7am to end of last case; Saturday and Sunday rounding with MD and assisting in OR; average call of 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month (Friday 7am through Monday 7am)
Responsibilities and Duties
First assist in the operating room for vascular surgery casesProvide floor coverage for surgical patientsParticipate in weekend rounding with the physician and assist with OR casesTake call coverage : 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month, responsible for floor calls from nursing and outpatient families overnightRemain available if two ORs are active past 4 / 5pm when not post or pre-callSaturday and Sunday : manage nursing and home phone calls from 7am to 7pmCollaborate with attending physicians during all on-call shiftsAdditional Information
Must have active Virginia licenseRequired board certification in Vascular SurgeryMust provide vascular surgery case logsAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and DEA certification requiredThe assignment does not include post-op clinic dutiesBenefits
