Job descriptionFirst assist in the operating room for vascular surgery cases Provide floor coverage for surgical patients Participate in weekend rounding with the physician and assist with OR cases Take call coverage : 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month, responsible for floor calls from nursing and outpatient families overnight Remain available if two ORs are active past 4 / 5pm when not post or pre-call Saturday and Sunday : manage nursing and home phone calls from 7am to 7pm Collaborate with attending physicians during all on-call shifts Must have active Virginia license Required board certification in Vascular Surgery Must provide vascular surgery case logs Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and DEA certification required The assignment does not include post-op clinic duties Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities Avoid the hassle of permanent relocation by taking on temporary assignments in various locations, experiencing different communities without long-term commitment. About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant for a 50-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting Jan 5, 2026. This opportunity involves first assisting in the OR, providing floor coverage, and participating in a robust call schedule with day shifts beginning at 7am and ending when the last case concludes. The position offers a dynamic environment focused on surgical care, without post-op clinic responsibilities.
