Responsibilities and Duties :

• The athletic trainer will be able to demonstrate an ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries : prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aide) and reconditioning as set forth by the NATA Board of certification.
• The athletic trainer will demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
• The athletic trainer will carry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations by the team / program / event physician.
• The athletic trainer will maintain NATA and CPR certification in accordance with those respective institutions.
• The athletic trainer will cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games or matches, and related events under the supervision of the program manager.
• The athletic trainer must demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the athletes status and interpret the appropriate information.
• Perform administrative duties.
• Be able to provide patient care during scheduled hours as assigned by a supervisor.
• Educate and motivate patients and families to learn and improve functional activities.
• Assure the quality of overall perceived patient care.
• Document progress, home programs, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain patient and family confidentiality at all times.
• All job duties considered essential to job performance.
• Additional job duties as assigned. Adherence to GOPT Policies :
• Demonstrate positive rapport with staff members, developing positive employee relations.
• Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
• Take direction and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Follow GOPT polices and procedures, including safety processes.
• Job Requirements :
• Education : Minimum of Master's degree in health related field, with current NATA certification and Nebraska ATC licensure.
• Experience : One or two years in athletic training setting preferred. Entry level graduates with NATA certification will be considered.
• Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of the job. Physical Demands / Working Conditions :
• Physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
