Role Summary
The Director, Finance will serve as a key resource in interpreting and applying complex accounting standards, supporting financial reporting, and advising leadership on technical matters. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal policies, while driving consistency and accuracy across global operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Guidance : Research, interpret, and document accounting positions on complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, consolidations, derivatives, M&A).
- Policy Development : Draft and maintain accounting policies, ensuring alignment with evolving standards and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Reporting Support : Partner with Controllership and FP&A teams to ensure accurate reporting and disclosures in quarterly and annual filings.
- Transaction Advisory : Collaborate with business units and executive leadership on structuring deals, contracts, and new initiatives with accounting implications.
- Audit & Compliance : Act as primary liaison with external auditors on technical accounting matters; support SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Training & Development : Provide technical accounting training to finance teams, enhancing organizational knowledge and readiness.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to streamline processes, leverage technology, and strengthen governance frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required. Master's degree preferred.6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 or national public accounting firm background.Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls.Experience with complex transactions (M&A, revenue recognition, equity / debt instruments).Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Workday) and reporting tools (Power BI, BlackLine) a plus.Core Competencies
