We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team and help transform the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning and develop essential social skills.
- Work closely with the teaching team to implement personalised learning strategies for individual students.
- Support behaviour management, encouraging positive behaviour and helping students build resilience.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of classroom activities and interventions that address both academic and emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to feedback discussions with the wider school team.
Requirements :
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH or in a similar educational support role.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
- A genuine passion for supporting the social and emotional development of young people.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
- A background in special educational needs is beneficial, but not essential.
