Overview
i3 is seeking a VMware / VDI Systems Administrator. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise supporting information system components, infrastructure integration, and maintenance to meet architectural and business requirements. The VMware / VDI Systems Administrator must have a customer-centric approach and provide all levels of support for the user community.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct customer service and technical support to local and remote users via phone, e-mail, online systems, and in person.
- Implement system additions and enhancements, and make recommendations to management.
- Manage a VMware vSphere Infrastructure and Horizon VDI environment supporting multiple labs within a multi-zoned environment.
- Manage the functionality of servers and computers running Windows / Linux OS such as RHEL, CentOS, Windows 10, and Windows Server within an Active Directory environment.
- Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems.
- Assist in creating and maintaining system documentation, including SOPs and policies.
- Implement Information Assurance (IA) systems and practices such as DISA STIGs, RMF, and system hardening.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
- Provide advice and training to end-users.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 6 years' experience or 10+ years' equivalent experience.Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance.Work proactively in a team environment.Excellent Customer Service Skills.Strong virtualization and systems administration principles and troubleshooting experience.Good knowledge of cybersecurity practices / procedures (DISA STIGs, RMF, hardening, documentation).DoD 8570 / 8140 IA Certification (Security+ CE) required.VMware Certified Professional or higher certification required.Experience managing large-scale, complex virtual environments.Experience building, standardizing, and configuring Windows and Linux OS in various use cases.Experience with Multifactor authentication, CAC / Smartcard PKI, and certificate management in a mixed Windows / Linux environment.Experience with virtualization technologies such as Red Hat OpenShift, VMware Cloud Foundation, VMware Aria Operations, and other VMware products.Experience implementing and configuring Horizon, App Volumes, and DEM for Windows and Linux instant clone desktop pools.Experience with hyper-converged systems from vendors like vSAN, Nutanix, Dell, and HP.Software Defined Networking experience is preferred.Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and ability to participate in architecture discussions.About i3
