Job description

Managing Director, Market Lead

The Managing Director, Market Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for driving growth across a defined market. This individual will lead a team of Account Directors, manage strategic client relationships nationwide, and spearhead business development efforts to expand Press Ganey's impact.

Key Responsibilities

Market Growth Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy across the market, identifying white space and expansion opportunities.
  • Drive new business and account expansion efforts with a focus on strategic healthcare organizations.

Client Engagement & Vision Setting

  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Understand client challenges and articulate a compelling vision using Press Ganey's suite of solutions.
  • Team Management & Coaching

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Account Directors.
  • Ensure consistent use of Salesforce and adherence to sales processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal experts, executives, and sales engineers to craft winning strategies.
  • Guide cross-functional teams through the sales cycle to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Lead RFP strategy and proposal development in collaboration with Field Operations.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and deal structuring.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Inside Sales to execute targeted prospecting campaigns.
  • Performance & Reporting

  • Maintain real-time visibility into pipeline, performance metrics, and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct regular 1 : 1s and team meetings to align on goals and progress.
  • Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in business development or sales, including 5+ years in a leadership role as a player / coach.
  • Proven success in account management and strategic growth.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare systems, hospitals, and IDNs.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic planning, budgeting, and execution capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

    This role can be remote (work from home) in the U.S. or based in our Chicago, Boston, or South Bend hubs. For those in-office, we follow a hybrid modelTuesdays through Thursdays in-office, with flexibility to work from home on other days and adjusted when traveling.

    The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 - $120,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
