About the Role
The Fares platform calculates and records all the money flow in a marketplace. Over $150B+ estimated, computed in fares for riders, drivers, couriers, eaters, government and tax agencies, and toll authorities. The fares platform is the source of truth system that calculates and records the money flow between entities in a marketplace. It calculates in real-time the amount a rider is charged, what's paid to the driver, Uber's share, and payments to authorities like taxes, tolls, and airports. There is no room for error in this system. A 0.1% error is a million-dollar error.
