In support of Program Executive Office for Manpower, Logistics and and Business Solutions (PEO MLB), we are seeking a Configuration Management Specialist III with experience in supporting DOD Federal acquisition programs;

knowledge of policy / principles / organizational protocols.

The specific requirements and tasks may include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Contributes substantive content for maintaining and developing the Configuration Management (CM) environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of the concepts of defining hardware and software configuration processes and procedures.
  • Contributes substantive content for software quality assurance process audits.
  • With no guidance, define, document, and maintain the Configuration Control Board (CCB), including roles and responsibilities of CCB members.
  • With no guidance, defines hardware and software configuration processes and procedures, version control processes, policies, and procedures to ensure they are followed on hardware and software development projects.
  • Utilizes CM tools to store, track, and manage configuration items.
  • Analyzes changes of product design to determine the effect on the end product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change.
  • Coordinates with customers and manufacturers to determine a process for change reporting.
  • Reviews released engineering change data and changes documenting activities to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies.
  • Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit / department.
  • May direct and lead others in projects.

Education / Experience :

High School diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and at least six (6) years of practical experience in systems engineering.

Without a degree, thirteen (13) years of relevant experience required.

Specific / Preferred Requirements :

  • Must have a Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Able to perform a variety of complicated tasks.

This is a remote position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is commonly required to speak, hear, sit, stand and balance;

regularly required to use hands. The employee may on occasion lift and / or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses.
