General Description :
DCA is seeking a Principal Accountant for its Georgia Housing Finance Authority (GHFA) team. Under general supervision and according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), this position performs advanced professional accounting duties that require independent judgement and initiative. Duties include analyzing, recording, and interpreting financial transactions, preparing specialized and standard accounting reports and providing information to auditors and other third parties. This position reconciles cash and investment activity to externally held investment portfolios, enters daily cash management activity from external systems, records investment purchase and sales transactions and other related portfolio activity for our mortgage loan programs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Agency Specific Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND Two year of professional accounting experience
OR
Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND Three years of professional accounting experience
OR
Bachelor's degree in a business curriculum from an accredited college or university AND Four years of professional accounting experience
Position Requirements :

Working Conditions (Travel, Hours, Environment) :
This position is currently designated as a hybrid (part in-office and part remote / Telework) position. This position is full time (40 hours per week) and may require occasional overtime. Local periodic travel may be required.
Physical / Sensory Requirements :
Work is principally stationary, but the person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to perform office-related duties. Must be able to operate office equipment. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, tenants, and community agencies and other entities that provide services. Must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to perform essential job functions in an environment that will sometimes include increased levels of work-related stress. Must maintain punctuality and attendance as scheduled.
