Summary :

Operate front-end loader. May also be requested to move all residual products from the mill to the storage area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Load / unload logs to and from vats. Load logs into mill from vats. First level maintenance and cleanliness of loader. Continuous organization of log storage area.

Stage appropriate logs for pre-vat scan. MUST perform all tasks safely.

PPE Required :

Safety glasses, steel toe boots, HI-VIZ safety vest / jacket must be always worn. Hard hats must always be worn in designated areas.

Qualifications :

• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Knowledge of different species of logs
• Flexibility to cover other shifts if manning needs require
• Ability to endure physical activity
• Ability to perform tasks outdoors in the elements

Work Environment :

Conditions in the yard range from hot and humid to cold and windy. Ground conditions also vary (mud, dust, snow, ice and uneven terrain).

Physical Demands :

Employee must safely be able to lift, push and pull up to 100 lbs. 25-50 times daily. Must also have to have the ability to climb in and out of the loader multiple times per shift.
