Role & Responsibilities

• Assist the National Safety Manager in creating and implementing the site-specific safety program.
• Establish safety pre-planning meetings with project management and subcontractors to discuss high risk activities and site safety requirements.
• Attend daily safety meetings and pre-job briefings.
• Facilitate weekly toolbox talks on specific safety topics.
• Oversee Project Safety personnel and provide guidance.
• Manage a safety team up to 10 individuals and establish roles and responsibilities for each safety representative.
• Ensure safety training and orientations meet project expectations.
• Educate workers about the company's safety policy and procedures.
• Assist in developing and implementing safety and loss prevention programs.
• Monitor safety performance of on-site workers to determine vulnerability.
• Identify and remove unsafe or hazardous materials from job sites prior to each shift when necessary.
• Inspect workplace and premises at beginning of each day to make sure it is safe for operation.
• Perform inspection on machinery, equipment and tools that workers will use to ensure they are safe to operate.
• Perform accident investigations to gauge measures that need to be taken to prevent them from reoccurring.
• Write detailed reports on daily activities, inspections and on-site accidents.
• Conduct safety audits on a periodic basis.
• Ensure storage of hazardous materials and dangerous equipment in specially designated storage areas.
• Communicate essential safety standards to workers during each walkthrough stage. Qualifications and Education Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelors or master's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management or related field preferred
• 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Safety experience within the electrical industry preferred.
• Ability to train, influence and motivate team members.
• Demonstrates industry knowledge and independent judgment to make decisions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with individuals with a variety of backgrounds. Key Skills and Competencies

• Be comfortable in job site setting - walk job site and associate with field employees.

• Self-Motivated and can motivate others.
• Aligns with customer's culture.
• Can handle stressful and emergency situations. Physical Requirements
• This job operates at a job site and exposed to hazards typical of a construction site.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
• Employees are frequently required to walk on uneven surfaces, sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
• This position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must wear hard hat, work boots, safety glasses, gloves and, high visibility vest.

Pay Range :

$90,000.00 - $125,000.00

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
