About the Role

We are seeking an Expert Software Architect to join a long-term modernization initiative in Albany, NY. The project focuses on transforming and integrating legacy mainframe applications into modern architectures, improving system quality, performance, and enterprise data governance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who can design, develop, and guide implementation of large-scale software systems using both COBOL and .NET technologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and define technical solutions and data structures.
• Design application specifications for mainframe and .NET components.
• Develop and maintain COBOL and .NET programs, write and optimize JCL scripts.
• Conduct unit and integration testing, prepare test documentation, and ensure quality delivery.
• Support deployment to production and perform post-implementation validation.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure alignment with modernization objectives.
