Summary of the Fabrication Tech position :

• Location : Albion, Nebraska
• Compensation : $18-22 / hour

Responsibilities of the Fabrication Tech :

As a Fabrication Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various machinery including but not limited to :

• HMI (shearing, bending, hole punching)
• GEKA (shearing, hole punching, angle notching)
• Marvel (shearing straight flange pieces)
• Progressive feed punch press
• Fanklin flange Line
• HEM vertical band saw
• Peddinghaus CNC plate detail machine (programming and general machine operation)
• Accupress (bending)
• Any other equipment needed in the fabrication department

Key Duties and Essential Functions of the Fabrication Tech :

• Follow and demonstrate company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine materials required
• Fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or instructions
• Shear, bend and weld steel pieces
• Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging
• Perform daily and periodic maintenance on equipment
• Provide accurate documentation of all work completed
• Cross train as directed and be willing to work at any production or shipping position in the plant
• Act professionally as a team player at all times
• Maintain excellent attendance

Qualifications for the Fabrication Tech position :

• Education : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Experience : 6+ months of relevant experience
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Accuracy, applied learning, cooperation, reliability, self-motivation, safety awareness, time management
• Software Application & Technical Knowledge : Basic computer skills required
• Other Requirements : Ability to read tape measure within 1 / 16th inch tolerance, high degree of organization, attention to detail, ability to lift and transport up to 70 pounds on occasion, ability to read and interpret shop plans and specifications

Physical / Visual / Mental Demands :

• Physical Demands : Standing, walking, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling
• Vision : Near, distance, peripheral, depth
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses and gloves
• Work Environment : Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, extreme heat, wet / humid conditions, toxic / caustic chemicals and loud noise levels
