Job description

Overview

The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for Police Officers in the Police Department. Under the direct supervision of a Lieutenant, the incumbent performs day to day enforcement of municipal, state and federal laws (including making arrests, working accidents, testifying in court, preliminary investigations, traffic regulations, etc.) in a designated area on an assigned shift. This position is designated as safety / security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.

Salary

Starting Salary : $58,501-$60,134 / Yr. w / Benefits. Salary : $58,501 - $60,134 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce municipal, state and federal laws as assigned in a designated area on an assigned shift.
  • Make arrests, work accidents, testify in court, conduct preliminary investigations, and enforce traffic regulations as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain CLEET certification.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable.
  • Must meet medical requirements set forth by the Oklahoma Police Pension & Retirement System.
  • Must pass pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.
