Responsibilities
- Maintain sustainable dealership production levels as defined by the General Manager and Senior Leadership
- Actively participate in the recruitment of high-performing individuals by owning the entirety of the recruiting process as a hiring manager
- Create and execute an action plan to effectively manage the sales team
- Identify coaching needs and promote training opportunities
- Hire, mentor and monitor the performance of the sales team
- Set an example of professionalism through actions and appearance
- Maintain superior customer service (CSI) through dealership culture
- Ensure target revenues are met or exceeded
- Responsible for profitability in both the new and used vehicle departments
- Work closely with sales team on enforcement of proper selling methods
- Set objectives for achieving sales and gross profits
- Manage new and pre-owned cars inventory
- Assist the General Manager in developing an advertising / marketing plan
- Plan, implement and measure promotions
- Responsible for developing a productive relationship throughout the various dealership departments - F&I, accounting, pre-owned, service, and parts
- Be the biggest promoter of CSI throughout the dealership
- Develop high performing and capable sales team members into future roles in the organization through job growth, training, development and performance
- Provide guidance, support and motivation to ensure employees are maximizing their ability and growth potential
- Maintain a positive and ethical working relationship with all employees, manufacturers, lenders, vendors and customers
- Continue to maintain our dealership's value, quality, and integrity
- Analyze information and evaluate alternatives in an effort to resolve issues and make sound, timely decisions
- Performs efficiently with the normal amount of direction for the position; displays the professional attitude and capabilities of a self-starter
- Pick-up, lift and carry items that may exceed 50 pounds
Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- At least three (2) years of sales management experience
- Proven track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals
- Excellent customer service, organizational and negotiation / closing skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented and enthusiastic presence in a team environment
- Strong written and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Experience and familiarity with various Automotive systems
- Consistent and stable work history
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
- Have and maintain an excellent driving record
- All potential employees must pass pre-employment testing including a background check and drug screen
- Sit and / or stand interchangeably throughout the day
- Sit and / or stand for long periods at a time
- Use hands, fingers and arms continually, frequently and throughout the day
