Security Officer Position at Morristown Medical Center

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Security Officer for the Security Department at Morristown Medical Center. The position requires the ability to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and to be available for call back as needed. Shifts may be 8 or 12 hours in duration. The candidate must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for at least 4 hours at a time. Proficiency with computers is required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to engage with patients, visitors, and staff, and will be exposed to bio-hazards such as blood, vomit, saliva, and urine. The candidate will be required to pass an N95 Fit Test and be able to wear an N95 or surgical mask for short and extended periods of time. The candidate will also be required to pass an AHS approved physical control tactics course and be able to flex their schedule to accommodate organizational staffing needs.

Minimum education required is a high school graduate or equivalent. Prior law enforcement, fire service or EMS, or behavioral health experience is highly preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean record is required. An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred. High school diploma plus military, law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical service or security experience will be considered in lieu of an associate's degree.
