Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with expertise in AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) to support our engineering and design teams. This position plays a key role in the preparation and modification of design deliverables, document control, and quality compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ACADE and the ability to mentor and train others in the software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical design work under close supervision using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Assist in creating and modifying design deliverables according to established standards.
  • Support the development of drafting and modeling work based on a variety of engineering inputs.
  • Utilize document control procedures and maintain adherence to quality and design standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and quality initiatives.
  • Share knowledge of technologies and drafting practices across teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and gain familiarity with client needs and design expectations.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and design best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Expert-level experience with AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) ; must be comfortable training others on its use.
  • 35 years of day-to-day experience using ACADE in a professional setting.
  • Experience with Substation Design Suite (SDS) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software and other modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, document control processes, and quality procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Education

  • Diploma or Certificate required; Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design-related technology preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
