• Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients,visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate.
• Performs initial assessment utilizing professional nursing knowledge and skills. Appropriately assess for : a. physical & psychosocial emotional needs b. pain level c. barriers to learning d. educational learning needs e. discharge needs f. age related needs g. issues related to assault or abuse
• Contributes to unit and department problem solving and issue resolution.
• Communicates effectively and contributes to positive unit and interdepartmental relationships.
• Maintains a professional attitude, demeanor and appearance, wears prescribed departmental uniform, wears identification name badge.
• Arrives punctually, takes appropriate time for breaks, uses sick time
