Job Summary / Description

Action News 5 is in search of a dynamic reporter / anchor who is ready to work in a modernized, fast-paced newsroom. The ideal candidate will have the ability to cover breaking news from the in-house alert desk, report live on active scenes, and fill in as an anchor. We\'re looking for a newsroom \'swiss army knife\' with a wide-ranging skill set. Quality writing and on-air delivery are a must.

Responsibilities

• Staff the alert desk and digital desk for engaging, live linear or streaming, in-house reports with a focus on urgent delivery
• Cover big breaking stories in the field on live TV
• Turn engaging and interesting news packages that can air in all day parts
• Fill-in anchor when called on
• Develop sources in the community to ensure impactful and unique content
• Have flexibility in schedule
